Welcome to MemVance, a site dedicated to helping people learn to use their minds and memories more effectively. My name is Jeff and I am a lifelong learner, and I would like to share some of the gems I have found along the way that have helped me study more effectively and improve my memory. I am a computer programmer by trade and have a love of math, science and literature. In my personal and professional life a good memory and the ability to learn are invaluable skills that I have spent my life sharpening.

I've been asked on several occasions various queries like what are the best methods for studying, how can I remember lists of information, or how to become an expert in some skill. This website is an answer to these queries, I am putting pen to paper and writing down some of the wisdom I have gained in my pursuit of knowledge. I hope to share with you some of this wisdom and with it enrich your learning experiences.

This site contains information on how to study, mnemonic devices, classical texts on memory, and several books I have found helpful. This site primarily focuses on proven methods I have used, guidelines based on our understanding of the brain, and improving skills that can be a foundation for future learning.

Some of the skills and study methods outlined in this site will take some effort to fully acquire, but anything that is worth doing tends to require some level of dedication to the task. If you dedicate a small amount of time every day to practicing and using the concepts described on this site, you will likely see measurable difference after a very short time.

I hope that this information guides you in your quest to master whatever subjects interest you. I wish you all the best in your pursuits,

-Jeff Hartmann
